Welcome Families!

A message from the principal

Welcome to Lively Middle School, proudly serving students in Austin. As the first middle school in Austin ISD, Lively has a rich tradition of innovation and excellence that continues today.

We are one school with many programs, offering students unique pathways to grow and succeed. From our Dual Language Program to our Law, Humanities, and Global Studies Magnet, we provide meaningful opportunities that challenge students academically while celebrating their diverse talents and perspectives.

What makes Lively truly special is our inclusive community and commitment to the whole child. Our dedicated staff works to ensure every student feels supported, engaged, and inspired every day.

It is a privilege to partner with our families and community as we help every student thrive at Lively Middle School.

We look forward to a great year with our Falcons!

Your Proud Principal,

Melissa Rodriguez

After School Programs

Prime Time

Prime Time is a collaboration between Austin ISD and the city of Austin to provide the largest free afterschool program in Austin. Austin Prime Time is funded by a grant from the city and managed by the AISD School, Family & Community Education Department. It allows schools maximum flexibility in designing out-of-school programs that meet the needs of students, families, and the community, and focuses on keeping students engaged in productive activities between 3:50–5:15 p.m. in a safe, relaxed, supervised environment.

Prime Time primarily services schools that have a low socio-economic status. As a result, many of the students are exposed to activities they otherwise would not be able to afford. Working with families, teachers and their Prime Time Advisory Council, program coordinators develop a variety of activities and classes that complement regular-day learning by providing enrichment via fun, structured recreation and hands-on experiences.
