Theater Arts

Director: Ms. Gang Lively Theatre is an award-winning program with multiple course offerings and numerous productions each year. Students can expect to learn skills that will help them onstage, backstage, and anywhere else they go in life when they take Theatre I. After this, students can continue to Theatre II, or they can audition for a chance to be in the Advanced Level 3 class, which competes in the UIL One Act Play Competition.

Orchestra

Director: Ms. Calvelo The Lively MS Orchestra is a well-established fine arts program and one of the oldest orchestra programs in the district, which started in 1937. The program offers students the opportunity to learn to play the violin, viola, cello or double bass. We perform multiple times a year on stages inside and outside the school. We offer three levels of instruction: Orchestra 1 for Beginners, Orchestra II for Intermediate players, and Orchestra III for Advanced players. Every Spring, Advanced (Varsity) and intermediate (Non-Varsity) ensembles participate in UIL and in Solo & Ensemble. We are a 2C school and are part of Region 13. We play all kinds of music and have fun learning not only the music, but also about the culture where the pieces come from. Please reach out to Ms. Calvelo if you are interested in joining orchestra, or if you'd like to set up a meeting to select an instrument for next year.
